Re: I saw a UFO!

While I have no doubts there is life out there in the vastness of space, I feel I have to point out following.....

Pale Blue Dot: Distant Spacecraft Photograph Earth - NASA Science

This was a famous photograph taken in 1990 by the Voyager 1 Space Probe, at the time it was only 3.7 billion miles from Earth (approx). Earth is the lPale Blue Dot, low down on the righthand side.
This was taken 12 years after Voyagers Launch, it was at the edge of our solar system, last year 35 years after it was launched it finally entered interstellar space.
So a Alien traveling to Earth would have to really really want to and know we are here.

Ah but what about Radio Waves, well we have been broadcasting them for a while.........

Unless of course the Vogons are comming.......

Sorry there are no photos, just links, my Galaxy is not happy pasting photos tonight?

So you're one of these Aliens then? :) What was it again, Vogon, Klingon, Dangleberry or Ferengi? :idunno:

Re: I saw a UFO!

Latest info from Kepler suggests about 2 billion habitable planets in our galaxy ... and I guess that there's a couple or three more galaxies out there:rolleyes: ... maybe there are a few of our neighbours dropping in for a look see. They don't seem to hang around tho'. Maybe the original scouting ship landed in Yorkshire, assumed that was typical of Earth, and gave our planet less than rave reviews as a tourist destination.:D

Well with all those planets out there, surely the planet Earth isn't the only one supporting life, they might not be little green men running a mock, but there will be form of life somewhere in the galaxy

Point taken, Retlaw (posting 61) and in general terms I agree with you that there are lots of things not possible, but of course (as you will appreciate) that expression of speech I used was in this instance only referring to the very controversial subject of this thread…..
……but why you would even WANT to sew a button on a fart is beyond me.
