Accy Legends -Isaac

Not sure if this in the right place but have heard today that Isaac has passed away, he will no doubt be known to many on here, I think there was a thread that mentioned him. I don't know any more details but it's from a reliable source.

Also that Pasco ( of Pasco-Sav Salon) has died on friday aged 51 . Not a good week for Accy's characters.:(

Just found 1 of them. Sad, he was a true character, apparently played drums well (posibly even on a Hawkwind track!)

As for Pasco, he'd been ill for a while and apparently was on a transplant list. Damn shame, he was an entertaining guy, my condolences to his family. :(

Didn't know Isaac, but had my hair cut by Pasco many times over the last 30 years approx. from when he worked in Blackburn.

He was one hairdresser who understood my frustrations with my curly hair and was very patient with me. How very, very sad.

That's very sad. I was at school with him, many years ago. Always a real character. Saw him a few weeks ago and had to help him off the pavement into the road, he was so weak. R.I.P Isaac.

Do remember him, not very well though as I left in the 60s but I know our Brian was a mate of his and remember his name being mentioned quite a lot then.

Accrding to the www:

The Council is under a statutory duty to make arrangements under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 for the Funeral or Cremation of the body of any person who has died or been found dead in the Borough where it is established after investigation that there is no possibility of an alternative cause of action.

The following page from HBC website gives a contact person who may be able to help.

A to Z of services - Municipal funerals

Just because it's a municipal funeral doesn't mean you wouldn't be allowed to go. If you can find out where and when it is, you could go along and take some flowers with you.

Lousy day for a Funeral, but at least Pasco got a good sending off.
The Church, St Anne's, was full.
Sad to lose him

For anyone interested in Geoff Heyes Funeral arrangements. The cremation is taking place at Burnley Rd Cemetery on Friday 29th June at 3pm. RIP Geoff.

I have to say that when I read this thread the name didn't ring a bell, mind you I haven't been in Accy drinking for 30 years, but when I saw the photo in the Obs yesterday I suddenly realised who Isaac's was, he used to come to practice sessions with the band back in the 70s always brought his own drumsticks and like to sit in for a few numbers I knew him as Geoff though RIP

Would estimate about the same age as Isaac - 63-ish. Perhaps a couple of years younger than you, so possibly your paths didn't cross. Cashy knows him very well.

Right, I've a question - why was he called "Isaac"? I was talking to a mate of mine earlier and he suggested that it might be after Isaac Hayes. However, I knew him as Isaac right from the mid-60's, when Isaac Hayes was completely unknown, so it seems unlikely. Anybody any ideas?

Right, cheers, mate. Isaac Hayes, future soul superstar was just some unknown bloke hanging around Memphis in '62, so that's that theory out of the window!

Like Cashy, I always knew him as Issac. Again like Cashy its probably in the early 1960s when I first met Issac. His mum. and dad lived at the bottom of Manchester Rd, around about were the Park Inn is. Cashy's right if anybody knows its Vito or Kev.

Yeah, they lived on the block below Christ Church Street. Remember going round to his house once. As you say, hopefully Florrie or Vito will know the answer!

He was drummer with the Francis T. Construction. Think Atarah once posted a pic of 'em posing by the side of the market hall.

There's no particular reason why you should remember from school. It was just that he was in few groups at that time.

The only ones I can remember in conection with groups are Frannie and Tommie Franks, I was in the same class as Frannie from starting at HF in 59 to leaving in 62, never really bothered with the group scene until the mid to late 70s Bernard

According to the line up quoted on the post, he's at the extreme left, but it's so blurred, it's difficult to tell. There is another better shot of them taken between the market hall and the town hall which shows Kev really well, but I can't find it.

Yea Lyn's parents had a shop on Burnley Rd, Lyn went out with Jim Payne for quite a while Cashy. A girl I used to go with was best friends with Lyn, she was a really nice girl, with a great outgoing personality.

I've just heard back from Jean (Vito's wife) she checked with him about the name Issac and it does go back to when he was in the choir. They did previously have another nickname for him which was IZAL.....because he was so slippery! (The Slippery bog roll) But they changed it to Issac later! Lol!
