I guess this isn't a serious question but I will answer it seriously anyway

I don't think they use prayer mats inside the mosque!

I don't know if any of these members are in fact racist. I haven't seen any evidence of it much on here. Prejudiced would be a bit closer

Think you're getting race and religion mixed up. Religion is a matter of personal choice, race isn't.

Liverpool cathedral holds 3500 standing and 2300 fully seated.

Thanks for looking up the facts of one of the cathedrals. I'm reminded about the old saying "going to the wall". These days it's used in the context of a company going bankrupt but it originated during the days when churches were standing only venues and the elderly, weak and infirm of the congregation took to leaning against the church walls for support.

Re: Super mosque in doubt

The mosque wasn't needed by any standards. Nothing to do with any religion.

But Accy is so segregated between the races, that any non-Muslim race would be clueless.

There are some excellent elders like Ethyl, Mike, Glynn and Catheline of Central Ward who would know this as they have integrated freely for the past 60 years, no matter race or religion.

It was a few factions of Asians fighting to get the bigger area, to attract the most followers to their sect (from the other sects). Nothing more to it.

Don't let ignorance or hatred fool you to associate every ill you see in an Arab/Asian = Islam.

Accy is screwed 'cus of such type of numpty idiots in both races, sadly, like some on this very board.

99.9% of the ills you're seeing are nothing to do with any race/religion.

Cultural? Maybe, just maybe.

Try not to correct the other members of the site when you know so little about them, it ruins it for me if someone else upsets them.

Plenty of posters on here, perhaps even the majority, work long hours to keep the wolf from the door (did so myself up to a few months ago) but it doesn't stop them from posting. You joined three years and you've only just started posting now - that's up to you and there's no law against it, but don't insult our intelligence with bull.

So what you are saying is that you suck at multi-tasking:confused:

By the way, as a confirmed infidel, if I were looking for folks who are prejudiced, homophobic, gynophobic, racist (unless you don't consider anti-semitism as "racist") etc. I would check out a mosque. And if I were looking for a whole bunch of them, I would check out a "super" mosque:rolleyes:

I thought I'd stick this in here instead of starting a new thread. An interesting read.

Why can't we discuss Islam? - World - CBC News

Re: Super mosque in doubt

Trying to understand the mindset of muslims, last year I watched BBC2's programme "The Life of Muhammad", presented by one of my favourite reporters, Rageh Omaar. I'm none the wiser as Muhammad was presented as a gentle, kind man, but how can anyone be any of those things if he sends his army in to attack places - not because people in those areas had waged war on him but because of their opposing beliefs.

Margaret Pilkington 06-10-2012 14:41

Re: Super mosque in doubt

Any meaningful discussion of Islam is hampered by political correctness.
We cannot discuss something with a sect, that seems to outsiders to consider itself superior to any other form of religious worship.
There appears to be very little tolerance of any other religion. Go try to be a Christian in Kabul...or look for a Catholic church in Saudi.
We,(any other religion) are considered to be infidels....but yet we have to heap 'fairness'...equality, on those who consider us unworthy of any reciprocal fairness and tolerance.

I agree, Cashy. There’s nothing wrong with making new comments about older threads, on the contrary it shows that Accywebbers are interested in what has been posted in the past and continue to read more than just today’s postings.

Quite! As the expression "What goes around, comes around" or some such is rather pertinent even in this present day & age.
