I've not had a flu jab before but it is recommended if your immune system is weakened. I had it last week along with a couple of travel jabs as I am now well enough to have a holiday and we are off to warmer climes all being well.

I was a bit dubious about having all three jabs at the same time but so far I have had no problems at all touch wood. Now looking forward to the holiday!

Well hope yeh have a good do, after a pig of a year yeh need one.;)

Thank you Cashy, I will do my level best! We're off on a cruise for three weeks, end of next week - it was actually booked over a year ago!

I hope you have a really good time, glad you didn't let a little prick put you off your vaccinations, but then, you're too sensible to listen to the thread starter.

:)

maybe they just stick the flu and pneumonia together in1 since pneumonia is a complication of the flu virus

No it's a completely separate jab...

Pneumococcal vaccination - NHS Choices

Interestingly I haven't been offered this one though the indications are that I fulfil the criteria. I don't know of anyone who has had or been offered it, it seems to be much lower profile than the flu jab. Though it is a one-off rather than an annual thing.

Researchers found that:
1.the vaccine prevented only 1.5 of every 100 adults from getting sick.
2.Reliable evidence on vaccine efficacy is thin
3.Vaccines do not affect the transmission of disease, even though their stated purpose is to reduce transmission of disease
4.doctors and pharmacies fail to divulge what harmful additives are found in vaccines and the side effects that can result( additives include aluminum, formaldehyde etc/
side effects include narcolepsy etc) :hidewall:

In (1) which vaccine are you referring to?

No additives are there just for show, there is a very good reason for their presence. Aluminium compounds are there to help the vaccine do its job better. Formaldehyde is used to kill unwanted viruses and bacteria that might contaminate the vaccine during production. Most formaldehyde is removed from the vaccine before it is packaged.
