oh you seen these cretins as well have you.Isnt it tempting to put your foot down and t-bone them because they would be at fault and not able to afford car insurance next year so will be off the road.Think of it as doing a public service.

Re: have the yanks got this one right?

A few years ago I saw a news item about young people in a state in America who were involved in anti social behaviour who had to go to a centre on a Saturday and sit doing nothing all day except listening to dreadful music (to their ears) - think eg The Birdy Song, Barry Manilow and stuff like that. If it was found that a song was becoming popular they changed it. I don't know what the outcome was but I found it amusing, and maybe a bit offputting for the young people! But maybe not a total answer to anti social behaviour!

litter picking in shirts naming their crime is another popular one

How about in pink lurex and feathers? Quite funny but not really right is it?

Damn right it's right, the more degrading and humiliating the better

That is what really put me off the whole commissioner thing. The Police are supposed to be unbiased, not run by politicians

We still haven't had any information about the candidates.
Ma has voted by doing what she calls a 'blind stab'........just picking a name...she knows absolutely nothing about any of the candidates..they are just faceless names to her.
How can this be right?
I am not going to vote for any of them...for two reasons :- each of the candidates has a political alignment(this cannot be good. They will follow party line rather than what is good for the community.
Thery have not bothered to canvass efficiently. To let us know what their hopes for the communities are..and how they will carry them out.

Re: have the yanks got this one right?

i had to do a bit of searching to find anything about any of them, and i dont hear them saying much!

not how the adverts make it out, they all seem to be saying the same thing

"give people a police they deserve" rhetoric pure and simple

however i did note that the nelson born lib dem candidate, was an unsuccessful candidate in local elections, and through his job defended the horrible lot connected to the rhys jones murder, guess who deffo aint getting my vote.........mmmmm a defence lawyer as police commissioner

No ... not right at all. I still think a donation to a local charity would be much better. Even tho' Canada is a wealthy country, there will be some kids this winter who, through absolutely no fault of their own, won't have adequate winter clothing or footwear. A donation to "Clothes for Kids" instead of a speeding fine or public humiliation would be a much more productive punishment.

Exactly...I would vote for someone who said 'let's put more feet on the street'....and meant it!

May just buy a few crates of bomber, a plane ticket, a husky and a sled and come over for a beer.

Totally with you on this one..too many people on various threads banging on about justice when what they are actually advocating is vengeance.

Other than two thing's
1. Adverts on the box.
2. this thread.

I have had no information that is of any use so far as whom to vote for.

I think I will be voting, after all I've got my card telling me where I can vote, but I don't know any of them so it will be X's against all of them, to destroy my vote,
I find this a very suspicious election I don't remember seeing the job advertised.
