Rhinoceros Party

Maybe politicians get their power from people taking them seriously. If enough folks laughed at them they might just dry up and blow away. :dancedog:

As far as I'm aware a "spoilt paper" majority has never occurred anywhere in electoral history, unless someone can tell me otherwise, so it's isn't going to happen now. Also, a spoilt paper tells a major political party nothing about what we do want. At least a vote for UKIP tells 'em we want a referendum on the EU for starters!

Re: I'm angry!

Apparently the majority of those likely to vote UKIP as a protest vote are or were Tory voters. If Cameron looses many of those at the next election he's out! No majority, no Con/Dem coalition.
So the more times people vote UKIP at every opportunity or the more people he thinks will the more worried he'll get. Then he may start listening and acting.
It's the only protest vote which will have any effect. Protest by voting for the other two main pathetic parties might get you one of those pathetic parties in power.

Please tell me(I might be a bit thick)...how on earth do you vote for a UKIP candidate if there isn't one standing for election in your neck of the woods??
Pray tell, what then, is the alternative??????
Please don't say one of the three parties, who have cocked things up in such momentous style.
I'm just sick of politicians who do not seem to understand what the little people of this country are going through......Like Tim Yeo, the dummy who thinks that an extra £3 a week on our power bills isn't very much....well, no to him it isn't, because he rakes off £140K per year from the green companies he champions(this is on top of whatever else he is entitled to as an MP) so, no...to him it might not be much...but try telling that to someone who is on a fixed income.

They talk down to us, patronise us...but they never LISTEN!

If enough people in Hyndburn contact UKIP and tell them they want a UKIP candidate to vote for they'll probably put one up.
Also contact your MP and tell him if he continues to ignore those who put him in power you and your friends will be voting UKIP.
These people with their noses in the trough will begin to be afraid if you threaten to take the trough away from them.

Remember, Margaret, not voting or spoiling your paper means you are silent- no one hears yours screams and shouts of anger and frustration!

I'm not a member of UKIP but if I get the chance I will vote for them and I intend to let my MP know it!

Re: I'm angry!

I'm sure 'they' (the powers that be) must know how many people voted...and also how many people turn up but the vote is spoiled(not counted)....and there are people outside from the various parties asking 'How did you vote?'...and I tell them 'None of the above'...surely this message must get back.

I have a conscience. It will not let me vote for someone who does not represent my core values. It would nip and pinch me if I voted for someone and they got elected...it would nip me for the whole of the time they were in office. OK......I know, I'm mad!

Re: I'm angry!

There can't have been a greater display of public opposition to our elected leaders than the ludicrous and farcical police commissioner elections last week.

Yet the results stand, and the 'commissioners' are deemed to have been democratically elected.

At the end of the day, whatever protests are made, whether by spoiled votes, voting for fringe parties, or boycotting the elections altogether, the powers that be carry on regardless.

UKIP will only carry weight if they start winning Parliamentary seats - which given the growing mood of resentment that seems to be widespread, might not be too far distant!

well, I moan a lot, but I do go to the polling station to spoil my paper...just to show that it isn't apathy......or daytime TV that is keeping me from showing up.

Silly me, I forgot MP's are only allowed to be naughty once they are MP's and not before
