Yeah but you order online and not only do you have to open the packet you have to open the box it was sent in, not my idea of easy cooking.

I have a real man's kitchen ... a stove that's rarely used, a fridge full of beer, a microwave, George Foreman grill, and a slow cooker .... and, when all else fails, the phone:alright:

And it's always my turn to make dinner:( And my critters always eat well ... much better than I do:D

As for imagination, I have more cook books than techie manuals ;-) it's all about variation on themes in reality. Curries are just spiced up casseroles, cooking methods are generally either fast (grills, fried) or slow ( stews, roasts, etc) , grab a few ingredients and I can usually knock up something interesting and tasty depending on how long I have to play with...

I cook like that too :) time/ingredients depending :)

The only time I considered MREs to be acceptable was when the Saudi Air Force discovered the Scrambled Eggs with Ham and Spam Chunks - I was asked to get rid of it all, some 20 or so cases. IMHO they were no where near as good as Compo or Aircrew Survival Rations:D
