The sensitivity thing isn't true either, and as you have nothing to compare it to,having being circumcised young, you cannot know how it affects sensitivity. If anything,it's the opposite-friction causes sensation and there is less when the foreskin isn't there, plus if the head and glands of the penis are constantly exposed to clothing and touch they become less sensitive than if they are not exposed until sexual contact. I agree. The fact that these people didn't know, that this procedure was available on the NHS angers me as well, as parents they should have the initiative. I won't get started on religion, though  Quote:

Having 'voiced' my opinions, it's daft-Mr Sugarmouse is circumcised-I asked him why when we first , er.... and he said 'It's the done thing in Canada'! |
Re: It makes me cringe does it you
neil i find your remark about catching aids as a stupid comment very offensive ,and as a moderator you should know better, fact if you are circumcised it reduces the risk of becoming hiv+ check out the facts on any hivor aid site, and i should know as my late wife died from being hiv+which became aids after 4 years,i was giving a general piece of advice on a topic i felt was good to post about.

I was under the impression that catching aids from having sex was to do with who you are with and the precautions you take. Maybe I am wrong and circumcised men are immune. If they are not immune then yes I do think your remark was stupid. I don't see why me being a mod has anything to do with me thinking your remark was stupid. |
Re: It makes me cringe does it you
Having an intact foreskin DOES increase the risk of contracting the HIV virus, if you engage in unprotected sex. Being circumsised also reduces the risk of a man passing the virus to a (male or female) sexual partner. However does not make a man *immune* to the virus and he *can* still infect a partner.
I could be wrong but I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that the foreskin is quite a delicate piece of skin , which can tear, be damaged, bleed. I do not think this is a good reason to encourage or campaign for more men to be circumsised, although fair enough if a personal decision based on precaution-it is not a proven fact, and in any case is not guaranteed. Thatt that the HIV virus CANNOT penetrate latex, however-whether the penis has a foreskin or does not-THAT is fact. My sympathies for your loss , Alan. |
Re: It makes me cringe does it you
thank you sugarmouse 0707,this is the point i was trying to make and i dont like the snide coments being posted on here ie Less. i am happy to be circumsized and it is everybodies own personal belief or decision in that matter unless you are to young to have a say.

Re: It makes me cringe does it you
Alan, if you were circumcised as a baby/child then you have known nothing else so you have no option but to be satisfied, because you know nothing different....and if you were circumcised as a baby/child then you were not given a choice in the subject...it was your parents choice...over which you had no influence.
Having an intact foreskin can act as a reservoir for all kinds of nasties...not just the HIV virus, but other STDs too. Although the removal of this bit of skin doesn't mean that you will not contract any of those things...if you indulge in unprotected sex, then you are leaving yourself open to all of these things.....and quite frankly, that is what is stupid. |

Well, life is tough just because you don't like a thing doesn't mean it won't happen, if you think a comment of mine is offensive, report it to the mods, however, does snide come under offensive or accurate? |
Re: It makes me cringe does it you
the penis is a self cleaning organ, the same as the vagina, there is no need to cut parts of it off for hygiene, or any other reason imo,you only need to clean the outside, like a finger, the same as women do, would you expect a woman to clean all up inside herself?
|
Re: It makes me cringe does it you
And I suppose that is why it transmits STDs/HIV/Chlamydia.
If it truly was self cleaning then there would be no STD's. |

@Emamum that's basically what I said! (I may have worded it slightly vulgar in comparison)! Quote:

Another reason is because I just cannot get my head around any Mother thinking her son's genitals should be hacked at , for ANY reason at all. I'm not a parent but I don't think I need to be one to justify that ideal. Those two reasons overlap ,any way. Another being-the infant has not the voice nor reasoning ability, to say whether he approves of what is being done to his body. And I think that's abusive. Quote:
If self-cleaning I suppose I won't bother having a wash for the next few weeks, save on the water bill :) |
