It makes me cringe does it you
66 year old nurse performs a circumision on 4 week old baby boy without anaesthetic and only using scissors, forceps and olive oil. No suprise the baby bled to death the day after.
Are these the same people who circumsise their little girls again without anaesthetic. |

Re: It makes me cringe does it you
I think it's a barbaric practise on either gender-more so on girls perhaps because of lasting effects and the basis of it-but totally not necessary most of the time :(
Anyone read or seen the media produced by Waris Dirie? I've read both her accounts of her life and seen the film-She escaped her home country and became an international supermodel and is now a pioneer to stop female circumcision. Much as I respect her work, she put her little boy through circumcision which I cannot understand! |

Barbaric!

Re: It makes me cringe does it you
Reading "God is not great how religion poisons everything" I learned of the disgusting procedure of circumcision as its supposed to beperformed by a Jewish rabbi. Advise you don't read that part; it might make you physically sick. In New York several babies died because of the practice; died of herpes

Re: It makes me cringe does it you
I think the practice of circumcision arose in hot countries as a means of maintaining some kind of hygiene(like many of the food rules in Judaism).
Circumcision in itself(and for boys only - female circumcision is for a very different reason and IS barbaric) is not harmful as long as it is done surgically with anaesthesia and pain relief. The case cited, was done by someone who had no concept of asepsis(if the report is to be believed) or the risks involved with blood loss. Circumcision for medical reasons is a different matter....and would never be performed in this kind of situation. |

if someone believes in god then god made them in his own image so surely people would come ready made and no require bits removing so the religous aspect is a complete crock of sh.... the practice should be banned if it isnt already unless medicaly required and anyone caught doing it be charged with child abuse along with endangering life. its not about religous tolerance its commons sense and just because someones religion is backwards it should not mean harm to a child should be over looked |
Re: It makes me cringe does it you
i was circumcised very young, dont remember anything about it,but i think it is more hygenic and healthy for us males,i am not jewish but i am happy and glad it was done,no nasty mucus or bad smells coming from the underlying skin round the head of the penis, most of my friends are not circumcised and wish that they had had it done, over here its very rarely done on thai men and it heightens the sensual feelings during intercourse and oral sex.

Re: It makes me cringe does it you
there is more risk of infection and catching aids from an uncircumcised penis than from a circumcised penis, and you are right but the risk is there if you dont wash properly, having a proper bell end as its called does a lot to stop infection but yes it does help if you wash it regularly
