a big pluss would be no outside party interference and orders from the local mp or party headquaters to do or vote a paricular way
without paty politics something of worth might get done to sort out this town but as it stands no matter who comes up with it the opposing party will vote gainst it out of pure spite or orders from higher up.
its actually sickening to think how much this town has suffered because red and blue would rather score points over each other than get something positive done

I've said that for years, even when I was involved, there should be no politics in local government, but it won't happen. The thing is that Westminster defines who is in power in most places, even Hyndburn when Labour were in government we had a Tory council, now we have a Tory government we have a labour council pure and simple and any councilor who tries to say different truly is in cloud cuckoo land, notice how the councilors who were so vociferous whilst in opposition come nowhere near now, that speaks for itself really |
