Fly catchers
1 Attachment(s)
Got a couple of these about 3 weeks ago, just used one and this is the result in 21 days 1000's of dead flies, once they get in they can't get out, the liquid at the bottom is supposed to emit a pheromone which attracts female flies, just flies, doesn't affect bee's.
Who would suspect that so many blue bottles would visit your backyard in so short a time, only had two of the dirty beggars come in the house since it was activated. The makers reckon they can catch up to 20,000 fies in 12 weeks |
Re: Fly catchers
Do you think you might have caught so many because they are now being drawn to your garden by the fly catcher.
What happens to the flies after they are caught, do they die in there. We`ve had fly papers up for a while, caught quite a few but still loads of the dirty little gits flying around, not as many as you`ve caught though. |
Re: Fly catchers
I've had all my windows open now for the last few weeks and as yet I' haven't seen one fly at all, must be very lucky

Re: Fly catchers
A worrying thought, if they really are that good, will we soon have a charity pleading with us to pay for fly farms to prevent spiders becoming extinct?
Oh, I can imagine the way the advert on afternoon TV begins, Boris is a spider, he is starving to death, will you help? £2.00 per month will supply Boris with all the flies he needs, or you can adopt him and Boris will send you a newsletter once every six months. Boris the Spider - YouTube |

It's inside the house you need them, why? Not because the fly is a massive threat to your well being, keep food and rubbish covered nowt for them to attack. It's just that they are SOooo annoying, open a window in come the flies, then, what do they try to do? get outside again beating their heads against the glass even though the window is still open! The stupid sods can't remember the way out, they then fly around the room land on us asking for directions but we can't be bothered to show them the way out. It's our fault, we opened the window, the fly took it as an invite, when it gets bored and wants to leave we should treat our guests with manners, hit them with a newspaper and throw their disintegrated remains out the way they came in. :) |
Re: Fly catchers
I have an electric fly bat....it shows them the way out of this world and into the next.
Let them on the other side do the swatting! |

Dead flies outside are better, 1000's of dead flies better still. Incy Wincy will have to change his diet in our area. |
Re: Fly catchers
The only use for spiders is to kill flies, if there are no flies then we don`t need spiders.
