World News Headlines.
A woman having a baby? gawd thats one hell of a shock. Personally think its pathetic that the headlines are this, wouldn't wish em any ill, but come on,is there sod all happening in the world that aint more important than this?

Re: World News Headlines.
Yes, Cashy, there is much much more...but much of it isn't worth rejoicing over.
A new baby in any family is a cause for celebration...it is just that the media do it to death...and that must be blamed on the media...not the new parents(who I am sure would have liked to have their baby privately and without all of this fuss and furore). |
Re: World News Headlines.
Sky News on Channel 501 has now rebranded it'self as " Sky Royal Womb"

Re: World News Headlines.
i suppose the big news is the royal family gene pool has been expanded a little now theres a bit of slighlty more common blood in the family
up to now the royal family were basicaly dingles with the ability to use a knife and fork folk wanna celebrate a woman doing what women have been doing for thousands of years then so be it but please dont make out she is any better than any other woman for spitting a kid out . its basically born into a life of benefits although get the royal buggy does sound a little posher than get mi pram lol |

The Private Eye magazine are showing up the other newspapers - for the overblown hype
|
Re: World News Headlines.
Oh no, I thought I was original. I, funnily enough, didn't have the pomp and ceremony when I had my three kids. I had a right royal time of it though (think of a bloke having his nads squeezed constantly for a day or two ) . Congrats to the world's first Mother and Father.

World News Headlines.
No doubt the politicians are trying their best to sneak bad news past us while this is going on.
Good luck to the parents and their child, but thank goodness I don't feel a need to be caught up in the hype. If someone could send me an autographed photo of the infant, I will treasure it all the way to eBay. |
Re: World News Headlines.
As i'm on here news time, i suppose the headline today is "Royal Baby Sups Its Bottle"?

Re: World News Headlines.
I bet the bloke wished he'd given birth himself. At least he'd have had something to show for it .

Re: World News Headlines.
I don't know if anyone on here can answer this question, but here goes. It's been reported that the new baby is third in line to the throne. However, if Charles died tomorrow then the Queen's oldest living son would be Andrew. Would he not then be first in line to the throne?
|
Re: World News Headlines.
It's all about first borns..dontcha watch Game of Thrones or what? ;)
If Chuck was childless it would be Andy. If Billy was childless it would be 'arry. Currently Andy is 5th I think. Chuck-Billy-Newbie-'arry- Andy |
Re: World News Headlines.
Andrew as king now that would be worth seeing:D, or harry for that matter:joint::alc::drunk::s_drunk::flasher8:

The way the town is we need someone that keeps their feet on the ground. That child will never want for anything, unfortunately around here there are plenty that will. :( |

As to children going wanting in Great Britain (I emphasise the "Great" as it is a great place to live especially during a recession) - I don't believe there are any unless they have neglectful parents whom society fails to detect. There will be some who have less material things than others depending on their circumstances but they should all have access to health-care, education and the basic necessities which are guaranteed under the welfare state. Judith has her feet firmly on the ground and is extremely conscientious in her Mayoral duties. I read her daily blog and can assure you she takes her position very seriously, dedicating a great deal of her time to the community. :) |

I could link numerous stories regarding the failing NHS, the lack of trained staff, the unecessary deaths of babies, could also link just what teachers think of the education system and the way they are being forced to follow a curriculum that even a blind man can see will not work, as for basic necessities, seen the growing number of foodbanks recently. As for neglectful parenting, I'd say sending your kids away to boarding school is fairly neglectful parenting. |
