Re: 3 bloody episodes of corrie?!
i'd rather go to asda and stand in the hygeine aisle and look at the soaps there...
i mean fair enough its meant to b a dramatic episode etc but 3?! surely u'd get more suspense if u drag it across a week instead of peakin in a day? |
Re: 3 bloody episodes of corrie?!
Is that rubbish still on t.v. then? Thank God I am no longer forced to watch this dross, there's alot to be grateful for no longer having to share the telly with a soap lover.
 |
Re: 3 bloody episodes of corrie?!
that explosion was flawed majorly in continuity
firstly as the explosion triggered the stuntman actually moved closer to the car so how cud he b KO'd? |

Horrornation Street ... somethings ya just don't miss. Does each character have to say 'hotpot' at least once an episode?
Maybe a should apologise ahead at this point ..... |

Re: 3 bloody episodes of corrie?!
I did not watch last nights amateur dramatics. I am getting a bit fed up with Soaps, Coronation Street in particular. They and the people in them take themselves far too seriously for it to be enjoyable. When I watch a soap I want a laugh, a bit of salacious gossip and a bit of a bitch fest. I don't want some half-arsed attempt at gritty social realism. Soaps are "bad taste". and the only thing that makes bad taste palatable is going "over the top" with it. A prime example in the field was the American series "Dynasty", which was so far "over the top" it became ART!
What soap isn't about, is real people living real lives. God knows we get enough of that everyday of the week. What happened to the studied nastiness of Ena Sharples or the fragile pretensions of Annie Walker? And don't get me started on Eastenders or we will be here all day. |

You for got Albert Tatlock A-b. Nobody could mutter as incoherently as Uncle Albert. And what about Leonard Swindley and the Glad Tidings Mission? Ah them were't'good old days.

Re: 3 bloody episodes of corrie?!
Exactly. And Hilda Ogden, a figure of fun and ridicule and yet there was not a dry eye in the country when she lost Stan. True pathos brought out of bathos. And weren't we shocked to watch Ena Sharples and Elsie Tanner scrapping in the street?
It strikes me that the current crop of soap celebrities, especially the younger ones, are very good at only one thing - playing themselves. |
