Re: George Osborne Cuts
And you, C'mon......you are one of the informed inner circle I presume.
One of the elite who has the ear of politicians. You slide under the door of cabinet meetings to hear of all the nefarious ways that the current incumbents are going to act.....where exactly do you get your news from ? I would hazard a guess that you get it from the same source as the rest of us....but that you seize on the sensationalist headlines.....in much the way that all of the media do.....you fish out the negative stuff to cut and paste for our consumption on here......anything that might be the tiniest bit positive.....well, you do what the BBC does.....you bury it or ignore it. Do you really think you are the only member of Accyweb who has a brain in their head? The only person on here who can think for themselves? The only person who can use the internet to view a variety of thoughts and opinions on news items.....or should I say political news items? We are all capable of sifting through the political stuff and making our minds up about what is afoot. Please do us all the courtesy of allowing us to make our own minds up about what is going on around us. |

Woman who took her own life over bedroom tax would have been exempt | Society | The Guardian one example there are thousands. i know a person who was paralyzed, who had to move to a neighborhood 10 miles away just because they had a spare bedroom for his carers who took turns. it cost more money to adapt his new house.

Re: George Osborne Cuts
Politicians lie..it is what they do.
All politicians...not just the tory ones.......those labour ones that you are so beloved of do it too.....and there are not many poor politicians anywhere. Many of them (even the Labour ones) have had a privileged upbringing. This clip adds nothing to your discussion. It seems to me that you aren't really a supporter of Labour tenets, but of communism...and that doesn't work either. |
Re: George Osborne Cuts
i see it every day. the things i see now are shocking. it is now trendy to make other peoples life a misery. i give what i get .the im alright jack brigade is laughable. i will never forget my working class roots. there is always going to be people at the bottom of the pile, the tories are making it harder for people to climb up the pile. and dave i have plenty of depth i see this government in action everyday the injustice of this government, the treatment of the disabled now. no wonder they were booed at the Olympics. Re: George Osborne Cuts
Truth is a moveable object.
The biggest lie is that we can change things in a democratic process by voting. Voting changes nothing...if it did then we would be banned from doing it. No party adheres to their manifesto anyway....so the people who want your vote promise you what they think you want....knowing full well that they can do pretty much what they like once they get into power....and truth....well, that is what those who are in power tell us it is. |

I am sure they will listen to your considered and well thought out ideas for the welfare state. I guess that you will advise them where to get the money for your ideas too. |

Anyway, they were talking about the amount of money they saved by going to the food bank bragging to each other about how they spent none of their benefits on essentials using all they got for their drugs & booze. So maybe these centres are just encouraging low life to remain low life, no doubt taking the charity needed by people genuinely in need? |

I was in the post office getting Ma's pension and I had seen a couple of young men outside taking their prescribed methadone(I always thought they hadn't to consume it in front of the pharmacist so that hey couldn't sell it) and one was advising the other to go to Maundy for a bag of food essentials. Food banks do not encourage people to take responsibility for their financial and budgetary needs. I can see them being useful in only a narrow set of circumstances. If anyone watched the program on Channel 4 about a Birmingham street where many of the residents are on benefits....have no intention of working, (but then maybe that program is Tory propaganda - I'm sure our esteemed member from over the border will tell us) and the young couple who we're claiming benefits if 1500 quid a week, could afford fags, booze, and yet still thought they were hard done by. This is your version of poverty is it C'Mon? I know what real poverty is. I lived through it growing up....there were no benefits....but we didn't rob from others. We got off our backsides and sorted ourselves out as a matter of pride. |
Re: George Osborne Cuts
