Yup! It is a tad warm here in good old Adelaide. Should reach around 46 today, as it did yesterday, but down to 40 tomorrow. Cooler on the weekend - around 28. I don't mind the heat, after all it is summer in Australia and you have to expect it - but you also have to be sensible when it gets so hot.
For instance, not going to do a 10 km jog this morning - mind you, I NEVER do a 10 km jog anyway...
Very sad - there are a lot of fires in the State, causing untold damage. Some 300 were burning the other day - mostly caused by lightning strikes. Then there's the ones that are deliberately started - a side to human nature that is beyond understanding.

At least Accrington will never have a hose pipe ban.
If there is one thing you can guarantee, its plenty of rain.

Talking of water - at the present time the water out of our cold tap is hotter than the water out of our hot tap....

So, that's where all our Polish plumbers have gone to?

Update on our weather. Out of curiosity I put a thermometer on a table in the back garden – right out in the sun. It hit 64 degrees! Tried the front garden – again admittedly in the sun and on the ground – this time 56 degrees. Presently it’s 60 on our back doorstep.

Of course that’s ground temperature not air temperature – which is currently 44 degrees…..
..…by the way we’re presently trying an experiment – if an egg will cook on a tin plate which has been placed on the doorstep. Nothing better to do today, or maybe the sun has addled our brains - wouldn't take much.

Ha ha - well picked up, gpick24. However, not only is it too hot to bother right now but unfortunately I'm at an age when NOTHING will ever replace the old brain cells.

I'll leave it to the middle-aged rats.....

You guys in Australia aren't the only ones suffering from the blazing heat. In Edmonton, Alberta, it hit 9.2c yesterday:eek: ... a new record high:D

Oh, by the way, it's snowing here.;)

I thought I was suffering a heat rash, turns out I'm suffering friction burns, I really must stop looking at the free porn that's out there!

Still experiencing a heat-wave here - though apparently a cooler change is on the way. Some dreadful, devastating fires burning - so much damage. Lost lives, loss of property, especially in the more rural areas. The fire fighters (many of them volunteers) are doing a magnificent job in horrendous conditions. They put themselves in danger to help others.

People talk about sporting heroes - that's a load of hogwash, these firefighters are what true heroes are made of.

And it's still snowing here;) I always thought that it is much easier to handle the intense cold than the intense heat. After all, one can always bundle up, or cuddle ... but I've never heard of bundling down:D

Re: That's HOT

Can understand what you mean Eric, but I would still rather have the hot than the cold - maybe not quite the intense heat we have been having, because of the problems it causes, but it is so enjoyable when it's in the 20's and 30's.

I don't think I could stand the extreme cold that you get - I don't even like our cold weather that much.

Still, as long as we wake up every morning who cares what the weather is......
