Poisoned Swans
Sad story in local news that someone in church has been poisoning swans. Such disgusting people.

Re: Poisoned Swans
Rob someone posted about this on here on Sunday night.
I hope they catch whoever has done this despicable act and do the same to them. I cannot understand why anyone would want to harm these majestic birds. |
Re: Poisoned Swans
I did a search first and never came up with anything.
I don't understand it either. And the cowardly act of feeding them poison. I think of myself feeding them and the satisfaction the act brings. They are all too willing to trust this magically appearing food for their little ones. Annoys the crap out of me. |
Re: Poisoned Swans
Me too Rob. I am not a violent person, but this kind of act makes me want to do horrible things to the perpetrators.

Re: Poisoned Swans

Strange to think they may get some sort of pleasure from it. |

Re: Poisoned Swans
I hope the newspaper follows up on this story as we need to know whether the bread that the RSPCA officer took away for testing caused the swans deaths or whether there's something toxic in the water, such as a foreign species of weed.

Re: Poisoned Swans
According to the Evening Telegraph the swans had to be put to sleep.

Re: Poisoned Swans
There were a lot of people upset at one of the swans a few weeks back when it was attacking the geese further down the canal. Even now when I go down that way, the geese are very rarely in the water, I can`t help thinking this is some sick persons idea of retribution.

That is far too good for them. I would make them eat poisoned bread. |

Swans can be nasty but thats no excuse for killing them. I was cycling on the canal the other week and a family of swans were on the towpath and showed no sign of moving as I approached. No way I was ploughing through them so made a 5 minute detour on the road and back on the towpath at the next bridge. |
Re: Poisoned Swans
You don`t seriously think I was excusing this do you?
Lots of Canada geese down there, but british geese that were attacked when I saw. |
Re: Poisoned Swans
British geese attacked by British swans is ok, if they had been Canada geese the swans would have been arrested for racially motivated attacks.
I wonder what the geese did to upset the swans, I would guess they got to close you the cygnets. No I didn't think you were excusing anything. |
