Strange, we get very few nuisance calls, didn't on our previous numbers either.

They must know who all you rich folks are, not worth ringing us!

As Old as my tongue and a bit older than my teeth.:)
(pre 1950's)
I am too old to be bothering with texting......by the time I have texted, the postman could be delivering a letter to the person.

I am 61 in April. For a long time I resisted getting a mobile but I wouldn't be without it now. It's always there in case my car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, and it's handy for coming on sites like this.

I no longer drive, and I would never use a phone to access Accyweb..I would really struggle to see the screen.
I was bamboozled into having a mobile when I did have to drive and worked unsocial hours, but I never really wanted one.
I could give mine up tomorrow and not miss it.
And, yes at 61 you should have learned not to ask a lady her age :)
(It says in the back of my knickers that I am 14-16)

Ahh, Margaret, my phones posher than yours, it has a camera. So it should, it cost £20 in the days when £20 bought you--- a cheap phone.
Can't remember how the camera works and the battery is usually flat but I remember it now and then, never use it.

I can't understand when you see a couple in a pub or restaurant, both on their mobiles, not talking to each other. Are they both wishing they were with someone else? Are they texting each other, thoughts so private? Are their lives so busy they haven't even a few spare minutes to spend together?

Personally,I find this sort of behaviour rather rude,There's nothing more infuriating than trying to talk to folk while they are tapping away on their device,it makes me wonder if I'm not interesting enough....as if :p

Gordon, I had a phone with a camera, but the pictures were (to put it politely) rubbish......so I decided that my next phone would not have a camera(I always have a good little camera in my bag anyway).
I am working on my next phone being one that won't phone anyone.....seeing as I hardly ever use the darned thing....I figure I could do without one altogether.

I do not 'get' the concept of folk being wedded to their phone...having to be connected to the media, Facebook, Twitter or some other equally banal social media all the time.
Like the world would come to a grinding halt if they couldn't see what was happening on the Internet.
Sad, very very sad to see couples more interested in their phone than one another!

When I get nuisance phone calls and they ask "How are you Today", I give them all my illnesses (both real and imaginary) for as long as I can - upto 20 minutes once - then I thank them for taking the time to listen to my worries and tell them that its very rare for someone to concerned about my health - I don't get many of these calls now.

Re: Nuisance Phone Calls

If they call from a number, rather than withheld , you can check them out on Who called me? Free reverse phone directory.. I add them to my phone's phone book as 'nuisance' , pest etc.
I sometimes answer and just leave the phone by the radio or TV. It wastes their money then.
