Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
I travelled through Rising Bridge yesterday on my way to Bury and you looked like you had a good blanket of snow.....Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
|
Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
really. My mums going to hate that. I spend very little time in rising bridge because my boyfriend lives in clayton. Well despite me not liking snow I could always help my 5 yr old neice build snowmen she'd love that.

Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
There was enough snow yesterday to build a fair snowman......don't know what it's like today.....maybe it has gone.

Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
probably as it did rain really hard last night. I haven't been out today so I wouldn't know. All this cold weather has given me a case of the sniffles. Or perhaps it was my boyfriends children, you know what kids ot like : )

I am just getting over a bad bout of bronchitis and would love some warm air and sunshine. Snow is Ok on the Christmas cards> |

Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
Totally agree with you both about snow. I don't mind looking at it but I don't like experiencing it. I'd love some of that Florida sunshine but the nearest I'll get is a box of oranges and grapefruits a friend sends me every year. There's nothing in Accy can hold a candle to them.

Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
I don't think I could stand the snow and cold anymore. I have just come through a lovely Winter of 20- 26 C and am now looking forward to temps in the 30's and the inevitable summer thunderstorms which are typical for a Queensland summer. I can't remember snow anymore. I only see it in pics. If anyone manages to get some pics though of Accy in the snow I would love to see them on here.:)

Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
My auntie is from australia and she send us christmas cards every year. They usually have pictures of glorious weather and christmas lights pinned up everywhere. Even though I don't particular like snow Christmas just doesn't seem Christmas without it.

Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
I agree with that one. Last year my family in New Zealand gave me a Christmas card with a beach and a flowering Pohutakawa tree (NZ Christmas tree) in the picture. As beautiful as it looked with it's blazing red flowers, it didn't say Christmas to me..:)

Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
Know exactly what you mean lettie. My first Christmas's in OZ were quite peculiar to say the least. The first one had a day 0f 112 F. I had to lie against the tiles in the bathroom to try and get a sensation of cool.:) It has taken quite a while believe me to get adjusted to hot Christmas's. I am quite used to it now of course and it seems quite normal. But even so our Xmas cards all seem to portray a white xmas. Funny that!:)

Re: Winter wonderland n Accy
hehe. probably to remind you of what your missing or not (snow or sun hmm know which one I'd choose) Apparently my mum had a call from my auntie in australia today. And to tell the truth I think she did send a card with a snowy landscape on this year
