The local lockdown continues.
With Preston added for good measure.
There has been a 'spike' of local cases with 58 people being diagnosed with this virus in East Lancs....58 cases.
I wonder what that is in percentage terms.
The population of Blackburn is 117 thousand, in Burnley it is 87 thousand, Accrington has 81 thousand, Darwen has 31 thousand.....but 58 cases is seen as a spike.

They are having a laugh at our expense.

If it was 58 cases from Preston’s current population of 328,158 that’s (ready?) 0.0177%.
OMG, we’re all doomed.
What a bunch of bed-wetters we’ve become in this country.

If toilet rolls are anything to go by there could be a run (ouch) on sheets, get yours now while stocks last.

No it was not Preston it was Blackburn, Darwen, Pendle(which is the Burnley area) and Rossendale.(Darwen and Rossendale recorded ZERO cases)

More testing stations are being opened in Blackburn and people are being encouraged to go....even if they have no symptoms...these tests are self tests but guided by professional.

It stands to reason that if you test more, you will find more, but that doesn't mean those that turn up positive are ill
They may have no symptoms at all.

Don't think I'll bother, if the test showed I'd had the panic it's not as if i'll get extra freedoms, just that I was lucky enough not to be serious, (and I hate being serious).

I mistakenly thought that Pendle was included in the Burnley figures..but that is incorrect.
Pendle has a population of 91K inhabitants.
It recored 20 extra cases bringing the total recorded cases to 644(out of 91K)
Blackburn with Darwen recorded 14 extra cases(though Darwen actually had none - out of a population of 148K)
Burnley recorded 4...the Ribble valley 3...Accrington recorded 5.
These figures are from the 5th of August.

Across the UK the figures went up by 950....again the percentage figures for this rise are very very low...and yet we are being told that this is a second wave...we are being duped....but are failing to see this.

More common sense from Australia.
Bed-wetters and health fascists appear to be in charge in Victoria.

well said Alan Jones.
I realy like the idea that the politicians should take a pay cut until the levels of unempoyment and the debt is paid off....In fact I would go further and say do not pay them at all until we are back to normal...and I do not mean this new normal...I mean REAL normal.

If they are anything like 'normal' people they will have stocked up at the beginning on toilet rolls, rice, pasta, bread, milk etc enough to last several lifetimes so they won't need paying.
