It was fairly clear early on that children were not vectors(unlike in the transmission of other infectious diseases).
The fear factor was so strong that no-one would listen to what was being said.

Has any government quango ever had such an inappropriate acronym as SAGE?
Sage by name, stupid by nature.

Btw, of those who would allow their names to be listed, there are 86 members of SAGE. And that’s not counting the seven sub-groups. With those numbers it can only be totally unmanageable. Is it any wonder pronouncements and guidance seemS to swing from week to week.

Yes, it struck me from the beginning that there were far to many 'experts'.....whose expertise was questionable(well look at the track record of Neil Ferguson, he of the foot and mouth fiasco).
When you have so many scientists gathered together, you are not likely to get any kind of agreement.
This is going to change soon for the Joint Biosecurity Centre.....SAGE will be pensioned off.
Now whether this will improve anything is anyone's guess.
It might be another of those 'too little, too late'

I know this article is not new, but it shows the flaws in the SAGE group.....and is critical of their work.....and I don't usually post article from this paper.

I would not trust them to organise a drinks party in a brewery.

I think that fines are being re-instated for parents who fail to send their children to school, come September.

Nowt!

I lied...they know how to brain rinse impressionable teens.
They are not teaching them how to think, but rather WHAT to think.

And there’s us not reading the Groaniad because it was founded by a evil capitalist who made money off the back of the slave trade and supported the Confederate cotton growers (unlike those ‘ deplorable’, white, working-class cotton workers of Manchester).
Who da thunk it?

Ah but that is conveniently forgotten....they have political points to score against an evil Tory,Brexit backing government.....and this is the task in hand...well along with converting young minds to their thought paths.
