Re: Isolation calendar.
Hello Taddy, I am sure that Aldi also sell your favourite Hobgoblin.....because each time I see it I think of you.
I am not a fan of beer or lager(except on the hottest of days with a raging thirst.....then it goes down like a fat boy on a see-saw). In fact my favourite tipple is a good strong sweet brew of builders tea....made with leaves(Never bags) and made in the very large China cup. Builders tea in a large Floral china cup seems a bit odd, but it is number one for me. If I have to have alcohol....give me a glass of chilled White Zinfandel(and I like Cold Water Creek Brand the best). |
Re: Isolation calendar.
Zinfandel ?, sounds like something that you fasten your trousers with.

Or something out of Harry Potter! Apparently it's a type of Grape & I was quite surprised to hear that the Zinfandel Wine is a big thing from the "States". With a name like that I thought it was Germanic .... Aye well, you live & learn. :) |
Re: Isolation calendar.
Yes, I think it is a Californian wine.
I also like the Gallo Winery White Grenache......both the Zinfandel and the Grenache are not white wines, they are Rose.... |

[QUOTE=Margaret Pilkington;1239959]what I really would like to see is Light at the end of the tunnel...
at the moment the country is like our disused GNR line. all the tunnels have been bricked up at the ends. |

[QUOTE=DaveinGermany;1240106]Not really a Wine person,
even when i did drink i was certainly in that club. something that resembled what you,d put on your chips for me. used to be a dark mild lover but that got rarer in pubs than a friedly copper in north yorkshire. |
Re: Isolation calendar.
Where is Ryewolf....I hope he is alright.
He has been a regular poster to this thread....and he has not posted for a few days now. Come back Ryewolf.....all is forgiven...you can post as many bugs as you like...they can be ugly bugs too....I,promise I won't complain again. |

Day 46: Cinnabar Moth, one of several I spotted in my yard.
Last year I had hundreds of cinnabar moth caterpillars chomping on the dozen or so Ragwort plants that suddenly popped up. Ragwort is poisonous as are the caterpillars and moths. In fact there were so many caterpillars that I collected 4 lots of around 100 caterpillars in a tub and moved them to places I'd seen lots of Ragwort growing. |

Day 48: A Walk in the park, Oak Hill Park Accrington, it was owned by Thomas Hargreaves, head of the Broad Oak Print Works in 1815. In 1889 the estate belonged Reginald Gervis Hargreaves, who was married to Alice Liddell, the model for Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’. It was opened as a park in 1893...

Day 50: A selection of bugs
1. A fly but not sure what variety... apparently it's possibly a St Marks Fly. Latin name is Bibio marci. 2. Crane Fly 3. Young Shield Bug. Not sure if that's it's dinner or just shed it's skin? |

Thwaites or Sam Smiths, still produce a pleasant enough pint of Dark Mild. Used to get Sam Smiths in the "Greyhound" on Whalley drive down the road from the Stanley ground, last time I was over unfortunately the place had closed up. |

Sorry no, it was a quick pic with the handy through the windscreen as I was holding up the traffic (actually the ducks were as they crossed the street). What was noticeable was the mum duck had a longish tuft/tail on her head.:) |
Re: Isolation calendar.
I'm bored, I bet you are bored as well, my boredom led me to searching the web and guess what? According to the wise and wonderful followers of Nostradamus and those other must be followed know it alls that claim they understand the Bible backwards, forwards and sideways,
Claim that Nostradamus predicted Covid 19 and it was mentioned in Revelations... ...Why in that case didn't these smart arses tell us last year as a Christmas present, with a little heads up from these people maybe some of the suffering could have been avoided? Sorry, I'm being just as bad as they are, using hindsight in an attempt to correct what can't be predicted. |
Re: Isolation calendar.
they didn't tell you because...er...you already sussed it out Less.
Go to the top of the class...you can be ink monitor and have a shiny badge(but take care of it we want it back next week for the new recipient). The prophesies of Nostradamus are so loose they could mean anything...now it would be really interesting if in among that lot were the numbers to the Lotto rollover...i would be more impressed by that. |
Re: Isolation calendar.
You don’t need to go back to the Bible or Nostradamus, Less.
Dr. Fauci, the ‘head of health’ in the USA, said a few years back that he could “guarantee a surprise pandemic in 2019/20”, or something to that effect. Some doctor who can guarantee a surprise. |
