Well Pam, don't know about you..... but the Saturday club was the highlight of my week.....must've sung that ditty hundreds of times.
If I was ever to be punished for anything it was by not being allowed to go to the Saturday Club!

Hello there

I'm new to this site and was delighted to see the pictures of the old Odeon looking just like I remember it. I used to catch the 46 (I think) Blackburn bus at a stop next to the gardens, to go home to West End, a long time ago.

I have relatives still living in Blackburn but none left in Accrington or Oswaldtwistle now so I haven't seen Accrington for at least 10 years. I had no idea that Woolworths had "moved".

The pictures bring back many memories.

Hi West Ender, yes that would have been a 46 bus. The number 9 did the same route but it didn't stop at all the stops. I remember catching the Huncoat bus on Broadway too.

That would be when Broadway had a definite function.......I could happily see it go back to that. I'm sure it would regenerate the centre a bit.

The Blackburn bus stop was on Union Street, did the Huncoat bus stop leave from
St,James Steet, outside the libary, one used to go up Avenue Parade, and the other up
Burnley Road.

Do you remember the Burnley bus stop was outside Melbourne House?
