mugging
a man near me was mugged around 1am sunday morning on knowlmere street
two youths in their late teens / early 20s were hanging around the phonebox on the corner of knowlmere street joining whalley road and asked for a cigrette when he replied he didnt smoke they dragged him down the back alley behind just drinks and kicked him repeatedly in the face and then thratened him with a knife if he didnt hand over his money they got away with a grand total of £15 and a mobile phone ( his glasses barely survived the attack as they were kicked off his face) the man in question is not a big man and this was a cowardly attack to say the least this is becoming a regular thing around that junction as teenagers / early 20s have been attacking people coming home from the pub as they are easy targets |
Re: mugging
it is just stupid. its wrong. i know this guy who got jumped when he walked out of the pub and these teens beat him up. dragged him to a ledge on a road and jumped on his legs. he is now stuck in a wheelchair for life. its just upsetting knowing there are people like that about who hurt people for nor reason.

Re: mugging
What on earth is happening in the world with things like this? I'm sure it never used to be this bad I don't care what anybody says.

Re: mugging
Cowardly little B****rds i hope they come across the wrong type of person next time and get their faces kicked all over the place!!!!

Re: mugging
I don't think that enough police go around accy. you hardley ever see them walking around when there are teens stirring up trouble.

Re: mugging
teenagers are out of control
things are getting so bad with teenagers and their drinking and violence in the street that i have now changed my views on a few things if a 15 year old and his friend gets drunk and trys attacking me i will now have no problems in treating him the way i would treat an adult if they are big enough to drink and fight like an adult then they should expect to be hit like an adult especialy if they dare to wave a knife in my face sounds a little harsh i know but why should i curl up and let them attack me just because they are legaly minors , even in good health an adult in his or hers 30 and 40s stands little chance of out running a teenager would it be child abuse or self defense is the question...? |

Re: mugging
:) well said i agree with you there. also would if you beat up the person and he reported you to the police then he would get in trouble. so if he tired to beat some one up (not that i would) and got beat up myself i wouldn't report it.

Re: mugging
the police man told me that on the night of the muggimg there were 5 patrols covering accrington and surrounding areas
this was all the manpower they had to cover town cener pubs/night clubs robberies muggings everything else he also told me that if they wind the window down on their car and ask someone what they are up to they then have to return to the police station and fill out a lenghthy report on it the criminals know this so no wonder they can get away with robberies and muggings etc they know the police are sat in the station filling out reports vigilantism is not a good thing but if this carrys on people will start taking the law into their own hands and the eye for an eye method of doing things will return what is our council tax been spent on .. yup anything but police it seems |
Re: mugging
The police are no use nowadays which leaves the only option of vigilantism one which I would have no problem with. An eye for an eye is what those b*****ds need and if anyone is thinking of rounding up a posse count me in.

ON saturday I witnessed an assault. 4:00 PM on Warner street. It took Plod over 25 mins to attend. That is just distgusting. The guy was being beaten silly at the time. Plod wasn't to know it woudn't turn into murder.
They came on Sunday to take my statement. I hope the idiot goes down for a long time |
Re: mugging
This is the same police who planted a story in The Accy Observer, when they uncovered a canabis growing factory, next door to their station in Gt Harwood. Well done, thanks for making the streets a safer place.
