I've recently taken over the printers pub in oswaldtwistle and "The Green" are my neighbours. Before i moved here i've never met a traveller before and I have to say there the nicest people ive met that cant do enough for me. Just wanted to clear up this pre-conception people have about them. There is good and bad in any community..That is all :D

On another note I'll be having a wake in the pub for one of the traveler teenagers thats passed away may he rest in peace x

Are you one of them?

If they have lived there since the 60's how can they be referred to as "Travellers"? :)

There was never any problems from the Gypsy's on the Green, they've been there as long as I can remember Gypsy Joe Smith was in my class right through school, from when I started in 1951. its mainly the West family who come from the Green true gypsy's not the Tinkers who cause havoc by indiscriminately setting up camp and causing endless problems. Its not to long ago that Gypsy Joe contacted me and came to see me, he now lives in Cheshire somewhere and is a lay preacher, spends most of his time taking relief aide abroad
