I agree with everything you say, it is time there was something done about these morons, after all it is supposed to be illegal.

It should be a straight forward 6 months in clink, do not pass go, no appeal. That would soon sort it out. But as usual the goverment haven't the balls to implement such a deterrent.

Its not as if its brain surgery now is it. Either use a Hands free kit or turn off the phone.

And while your at it, no smoking in cars either.. If you can't phone you shouldn't be able to smoke. Or eat or drink or do make up. If you are driving, drive.....

Good point Roy. If you drop a fag while driving its kind of more dangerous than talking on a phone.

Did you know that the phone law does not cover 2-way radio. So taxi drivers, Police and CB/Ham radio users can still talk while driving. Believe me is is hard to drive with the microphone lead rapped around the steering wheel.

What is the difference between using a mobile phone or a hand held PMR radio? You have to keep pushing the push to talk button on radio so it could be more distracting.

Yet another law dreamt up by people with no idea.

Not sure about that one Roy. There are enough mingers in Accy already. If they missed the extra make-up time things could get suicidal for us blokes :D

You would be amazed at some of the things I see driving to work. People shaving, reading newspapers, doing make up, it beggers belief.

The best one I saw though was just after the mobile ban came in. I was riding my bike down the M62 and overtook a Police Range Rover . The driver was texting!

why should we expect them to act quickly on(mobiles)its taken them decades to act on drink driving and give custodial sentences, then its not always custodial(dissolusioned)

Re: mobile phones and driving

the problem of drink driving has been solved loing ago

most cars now have cup/tin holders :D

i may be wrong but i think there is a £50 fine for using a mobile phone while driving and a £200 rerward for reporting a drink driver

if you are behind a drink driver you can report him using your mobile and get £200 but deduct £50 for using the mobile to report them

total proffit £150

who says crime dosnt pay lol

The driving test is only a small part of learning to drive mate. A lot might fail the test but that does not mean they are bad drivers.

I saw a girl riding a horse along Queens Road this morning whilst talking on a mobile phone. Has'nt technology moved on a lot. Where does she plug the charger and the hands free kit in.

I don't want to bore people about my run in with a Muppet on the zebra, all I'll say is that I was lucky,People that drive and use a mobile are as bad as drunk drivers and should get
treated the same by the public, Is that call worth killing someone?
