Suppose so but after the binmen squashed the lid on my bin and they wouldn't give me a new one for ages I had to do something.

Ray, this strike affects people who normally have their bins emptied on a Wednesday or a Thursday.

On the 16th and 17th July the bin men are going on strike because of a disagreement over their pay so no bins will be emptied on those dates.

These people's bins will be emptied at a later date as specified by Pam1 in the original post in this thread.

Hope that explains things.

P.S.....LOL stands for laugh out loud. No-one was calling you LOL.

Re: Bin Men Strike

It affects all council workers doesn't it ? Presumably if there are no council services for 2 days then we will have 2 days deducted off the council tax bill ?

Re: Bin Men Strike

It's not just council workers either Dave, it's anyone who is in Unison... which includes the majority of where I work which is a housing association. However, I am not in the union so will be scab for two days

so on that basis you would cross a picket line if one was there, yet still hold yer hand out fer union negotiated rises? the Tolpuddle Men would turn in their graves.

I actually approached personnel asking if I could negotiate my own rise as I wasn't part of the union and was turned down...so what else can I do??

As I couldn't turn any pay rises down either.... go figure!
