Give us a bit of form then.

Councillors - View by Ward: Rishton

How many Rishton councillors are there?

Are your opponents all new runners?

Will the weather on the day affect performance?

Three.

Yes.

Usually.

(Could do with John McCririck to help me out here...)

Sorry, I'm confused.

There are only three councillors in Rishton? Or are there more, who aren't up for re-election this year?

There's only three listed on the H.B.C. site.

Are those three all standing down, does that not mean all three of the new candidates will simply replace them then, because the existing councillors aren't listed as standing in the forthcoming election?

Sorry, probably being thick, but don't understand it.

There's only one place up for election this year. There are 3 candidates for that place.

So which of the Rishton councillors is standing down, that the three listed candidates are fighting to replace?

I think the councillor stepping down is Jannet Liddle.. I'm sure somebody can correct me if that's not right though.

Yes, that's right. One of the Conservative councillors, Jennet Liddle, is standing down as she has now moved to Clayton-le-Moors and says she wants to concentrate on her family.

Re: Council elections, 2010.

Ok, here are my predictions

Clayton-le-Moors
I think Nick Collingridge will have his vote diluted by the BNP so Tim O'Kane will probably get back in.

Huncoat
Paul Gott is fairly well respected in the area so should hold his seat.

Immanuel
This is a tough call. Collette only won by about 50 votes four years ago. I suspect that Simon Taylor may edge it this time. But, equally wouldn't be too surprised if she just clings on.

Milnshaw
Clare should be fine.

Netherton
Don't know.

Overton
Don't Know.

Peel
Bernard is well respected so I'd assume he would hold on to the seat.

Rishton
Don't know

Spring Hill
Another tough call on this one - Pam is well respected so would expect her to hold on but can imagine a Tory swing in this seat. And this is the only LibDem seat where they're putting anyone up. So that could take away some of Pam's vote.

St Andrew's
Peter Britcliffe should hold on to his seat.

St Oswald's
I would imagine that Doug Hayes would be able to hold on.

Pretty much spot on, with the exception of Paul Gott who got beaten by Nick Whittaker.
