Fugitive Polly Peck tycoon Asil Nadir flying back to UK

Call me cynical if you wish, but what's the betting he has some severe health problem and will end up treated on the NHS whilst being allowed to live a life of riley awaiting a court case he probably knows he hasn't a chance of being dragged to because he will keep getting it adjourned on 'health grounds'.

Does seem odd.

Odder still that apparently he's still minted.

Unlike that other returing old lag, who'd blew his loot, Ronnie Biggs.

The greek/turkish partition of Cyprus is likely to end within the next few years, in order that Turkey can join the EU.

So his hiding place in northern Cyprus wouldn't be safe for him anymore.
I suppose his reasoning would be to volunteer to return now and so get more leniently treated than if he waited to be extradited.

I always thought Polly Peck sounded like a make of ladder free tights.

He left when they were in power, may have been better of coming back a few years ago and offering a bung to Tony and Gordon

All that money and he still can't afford a haircut! Perhaps there are no barbers in northern Cyprus.
Aren't haircuts free in prison?

I don't know, nor am I willing to find out, the time we have to spend in court being given a 2nd or 3rd chance makes the free room and board too prohibitive.
