Full Big Moon
its ays on the news...............
Britain will tonight be treated to a spectacular show when the full moon will appear bigger to the naked eye than it has done for a few years! The moon should give the illusion of a massive glowing sphere when it rises above the horizon shortly after 10.30 pm Astronomers said the illusion would be caused partly due to the recent passing of the summer solstice. The Moon is at its lowest point in the sky and the Sun is at its highest. This factor has been boosted by the Moon being at a particular point in a 18.6-year cycle of "tilted" orbits around the Earth. But scientists are quick to point out that the show is merely an optical illusion. I for one will have to see that

A few years ago I was driving home from work and I saw the moon and it looked absolutely huge......and it was very yellow........it would be around September time because I remember thinking 'I wonder if that's what they call a harvest moon'........It looked close enough to touch.

I can't see it! I think all the houses are in the way.
 I remember years ago seeing it huge and looking close enough to touch. It was a heck of a long time ago because I think I was about 10 or 11 at the time. Anybody take any photos tonight?

just been out and can't see it at all, def not cos of clouds cos I can see the stars. It's unusual as I can usually see it clearly from the back of my house
