Government plan to "sell off" Forests and Woodlands

Don't know about anyone else but when enjoying our forests and woodlands I often wonder... why don't we cut down the trees and build a golf course?

Seriously I think it's disgracefull - if it's true - with the rainforest coming down at a phenomenol rate we need to keep as many trees as we can.

Rainforest Destruction

Old African saying, "The best time to plant a tree is 5 years ago, the 2nd best time is now!"

Elves, fairies, and pixies should be seen as an ethic group, like the Romanies, and not be forced off their ancient lands.

The trees were there before the houses on pinewood drive at the top of avenue parade the land they are built on was always a bog they had to put some serious drainage in there when the built them early 80's i think, trees some years before that.

Yes i think the planting took place in the early 70's the catchphrase was plant a tree in 73 i think it was a national campaign to get local authorities to plant trees on public spaces.

I remember the one in the eighties.

'Chop it down in '85.'

'You need a Tesco to stay alive.'

Coppice was planted in late 70's was it not? It's better now - perhaps it was a bit naked before?
