Grange Street, Clayton.

Just been down Grange Street. Concrete posts have been erected all the way down on the grass verge side. Presume to stop people parking on them.

They are only a few metres apart and are very approximately 2' high, 9" depth x 9" width on a concrete base. Large square reflectors at the top.
Gawd, they look awful. Sorry couldn't get a picture ... was dark.

A very pretty street turned ugly.

Surely, something a little more subtle could have been installed ?

Some parts of Clayton are very pretty.....and Grange St faces the park and is a very pleasant street....or was until they put these posts in place....I haven't seen them, may have a look and take some pics tomorrow or Wednesday.

Eeew, yes please, was going to go back in the morning to take a picture.
Would appreciate your opinion, sure it is not me just being a grouch.

Have you seen the square lit up with the Christmas decorations ? They are very subtle and tasteful (Jaysay ... ), best in Hyndburn, I reckon.

Yes, I walked down to the post office on Friday........understated...not flashy at all, yes subtle covers it Kate.

I think it might be Wednesday when I go and take pics.....I know this is going to sound really 'wimpy'....but my camera doesn't much like going out in the rain...especially if it is blowing as well(no, that isn't quite true....I don't like taking my camera out in the rain....don't like the wet getting to it).

S'okay, I will go anyway.

Not sure, who will take an interest on here though.
Sometimes think we are the poor relations if we don't have an Accy or Ossie address... goes off with a downtrodden expression ...

Re: Grange Street, Clayton.

These are 'em. They are wood, by the way, not concrete. Probably weather a little, but a bit much in my opinion. Maybe the residents are happy with them ?

Wanted to get a shot from the church, but couldn't park up ... LOL.

They are reasonable substitutes for public seating. I wouldn't hesitate to perch on one for a rest.

That's a long lane and I wouldn't make it to the end without perching on one or two en route.
