Meteor tonight over Accrington

Hi all,

Did anyone else see a fireball over Accrington tonight? I thought it was a firework at first but realised it couldn't have been, it was way to big. It was heading North and going quite slow and low down. Seemed to to be breaking up with smaller bits coming off it. Pretty impressive but also a little scary!

It has made BBC news
BBC News - 'Meteors' sighted in skies across UK

I did hear the (men in black) helicopter buzzing about

Thanks, good to know I wasn't imagining it! There was only one that I could see, not a cluster like on the news. Still, the ones better than none!

Re: Meteor tonight over Accrington

I saw it about 00.35 this morning - Northern sky travelling from North to East, quite distinct.

there must have been quite a few judging by the places they were spotted. It was 11pm when I saw one.
