Depends which rank you use.
I use Bash taxis & it's about 3 quid

The minimum fare on private hire taxis is £2.50, that's when you ring the office and book. If you get one from the ranks it's a different fare system, they operate under a hackney cab licence, but they should have their meters on, we've reported some of them for overcharging and not running a meter.

Thats what I thought.

Wondered as I was charged £3 for distance that would be minimum fair, IMO, just wondered if there was a actual set price.

How do you mean reported.

Wrote the cab number down and reported to Hyndburn Borough Council licensing department, if they refuse to use a meter their license can be revoked, unless you've agreed a price before the journey.

we used central when we were in accy you could agree price on phone then yhey cant change it

never get taxis hardly, complete rip off!!
£3.00 minium fare is a bit much, taxis only work out cheaper if they are four of you getting in, then it cheaper than a bus!

I always use Church & Ossy taxis, I feel safe with the drivers and trust them to ferry my son around without ripping him off. They're always friendly & helpful too - carting in the shopping for me without even having to ask.

Six bucks minimum! You guys are being ripped off. I still own a couple of cabs and would love a $6 min. My expenses were close to 100, 000 bucks last year. Now, if I could figure how to get the cars to Accy, I might do a lot better than break even.
