Re: Money To Burn.

If another bin is supplied in Hyndburn it will cause 'bin congestion' where I live.

This block of 4 flats has one front door and one back door and 4 grey bins.

The parking area for bins is a narrow strip of concrete next to the walls of the flats.

The rest is lawned and has to be kept clear for mowing access.

The other 3 residents park theirs at the back door, but until recently, mine was parked at the front. (I did that because it involved dragging it a shorter distance to the collection point at the property boundary). I moved it to the back next to the others last week because I was sick of people using it as a dog poo bin.

So now the parking area is full - where will extra bins go? - directly under the kitchen windows of the ground floor residents - I can see that going down well

Re: Money To Burn.

As long as they don't expect the recycle bin to be presented at the front of the house I don't mind. There is no way I'm dragging the thing through the house! Round the block wouldn't be impossible for me but very difficult for some people who live in the middle of our long terraced row. It's longer than the average.

Sadly we no longer have the 247 forum. I miss being able to find out what is happening in Blackburn the same way we exchange Accy gossip on here.

Is it not back up and running now, Willow?

I'm sure there's a thread saying that it is.

JB said they sent everyone a letter so I would have hoped that would have done.

Is your non-recyle bin smaller than your grey recycle bin?
I would have thought they would want you to have a small bin for weekly non-recycle collections to force you to use the recycling bins

I can't understand you doing that. You want people to put dog poo in bins to keep the streets clean but yet you moved your bin

They should take it home and put it in their own bin if no red bin is provided at the place they take their dog to do its business.

I take care to tightly wrap all refuse to avoid smells - they don't.
The bin is parked next to the door - visitors enter past it
Would you like doggy doo smells drifting into your living space?

Margaret , in my complex we have a dumpster for general garbage and bins for re-cyclables (paper/plastic) both are picked up and emptied on the same day by the same truck , one lot goes into the compactor at the back and the other stuff is tipped into the sides , and the garbage-men seem to have no problem wheeling the tubs/bins from the covered storage area into alignment for the truck and then returning them back to original situ .......it's what they are paid for ...isn't it ?

We have better access for their wagons, but at front only.
I am not sure where you are on Mallard, but Mallard and Kingfisher are laid out in a courtyard fashion aren't they?

Re: Money To Burn.

I never walk past - just looked on google earth, and I think that the reason is -
the bins have to be positioned at the property boundary, and the car parking areas are within the boundary

I guess he will get one in due course. Where my grandson lives near Marsh House Lane they got their burgundy bin months ago.
