New Google maps

Anyone seen the new Google map pages? Its here
If you click and hold the map you can drag it, something you cant do with Multimap or streetmap which really annoys me when you have to go down a bit then left a bit, then you loose the other part of the map, you know what I mean?
It also has a satellite feature but the quality of the images isn't too good.
Its been added to my bookmarks, I will be using this one in the future.
Seems like its only USA and UK at the min

Re: New Google maps

I must say google maps is BRILLIANT. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and it's simply amazing. Apparently it dosn't work too well on dialup connections tho... but seems to work flawlessly on my broadband connection.

It has 'directions', you can enter a postcode or place where you wish to start, and where you want to end up then it will draw a line of the route you need to take, along with written instructions. I followed one to St Annes from Accy and found the street I was after in the middle of a residential zone with no problems.. even if I did cheat and take the train to St Annes

Theres also a local search which is VERY handy, it found me some guest houses in the St Annes area, it uses yell.com and shows you where they are on the map, so again I could find where the heck my guesthouse was even tho im totaly new to the area. Couldn't have done without it and would proberbly still be there now if I didn't have Google maps!

Re: New Google maps

It all depends what you're looking for in a mapping system
