Well the slow cooker is out of the cupboard and all the ingredients are prepared for tomorrow. In the morning I'll stick it all in the pot and leave it to cook while I'm at work. Hope it works out ok, or I'll be going hungry

i wish i could make proper warming foods like broth best i can do is beans on toast and even then there usually cold

going to get a slow cooker tomorrow. used to have one back in the 80's but never really used it. however out all day working and don't like leaving gas oven on so hey what the hell ....

I always think broth is best warmed up the day after ..its all thick and sticks to the ribs,, as my mum used to say

Well, got home around 8-ish and the smell of chicken casserole greeted me at the door. I don't think it's just right yet, but it was pretty tasty and there's plenty left for tomorrow. I could do with thickening the gravy a bit, but I don't want to add artificial thickeners/flavourings. A little tinkering required.

lucky you... I had my usual beans on toast, bought a new bag instead of the cooker... maybe next week

Got my slow cooker from Wilkinsons a couple of months back; think it was about £12 ; it's plenty big enough for 4 hungry people !
