I'm waiting to find out if we are getting one, usually get our letters at the end of Jan.

At the end of the day we have had a good year will be making > 5 billion profit in the worst year we've seen etc so I would expect one. Having said that Gordon will be nicking 40% of it anyway.

Only time will tell..

As for NR staff. They probably deserve one more than most, imagine what rollercoaster of emotions they have been through. add to that the fact that most staff would have had money in shares in their company through sharesaves etc that has all disappeared. Lets not forget it wasn't the average branch staff that caused the issues with their Bank.

Ridiculous. In a time when people are struggling, and the government are shouting at banks for giving bonuses, the bank they have complete control over, goes ahead and starts handing out bonuses while the bank still owes the taxpayer billions of pounds.

I have no problem with independent companies paying whatever salaries and bonuses they see fit.

As you say, now many banks are part nationalised, shored up with tax payer's money, there needs to be a limit on those salaries and bonuses, perhaps in line with the Civil Service.

Fat Cats at the banks that have needed public money to stay afloat, must realise that the days of million pound bonuses are over, and it's down to the government to ensure there are structures in place so that this isn't a possibility.
