Red elastic bands

I'm always curious about things I see lying on the road - for instance, who was it who went home with only one high heel on and who left their gloves in the park?

One thing that puzzled me was the sight of red elastic bands until it was explained to me a few days ago. Royal Mail only ever use red elastic bands because for bundles of mail - apparently they don't upset any scanning equipment so they're perfect.

Anyone else seen anything like this abandoned on the street?

Whilst out walking you see allsorts. Practically every piece of clothing you can name through to one whole walking boot!! How'd you not notice that was missing??

Probably the weirdest thing I've seen was a microwave oven in the middle of a moor with no visible trackway to that point. Must've been more effort to get it there than take it the tip!!

Yes, the red elastics are from Royal Mail.

Postmen are not supposed to just drop them on the floor though......they're supposed to take them back to the sorting office to be re-used......saving money and all that.

Your postman is naughty.

Don't know whether it still applies, but I can remember loads of kids being left on street corners and near Rhyddings Park on a Friday night by their parents, armed with six packs of Special Brew

Re: Red elastic bands

I sometimes ask my postie for some rubber bands.
I use them to reseal bags of part used frozen food to put back in the freezer.
They are easier to use than 'twist ties'

It's been very windy recently so they must have blown off a washing line, there wasn't any of accymans funny red elastic bands nearby?
