Re: Wednesday Moan

I was walking my dog down the back alley/passageway/road......(What do you call them up north when they are wide enough for vehicles?) a few weeks back and noticed an abundance of tablets scattered around the place, they had obviously been carelessly put into the rubbish and had either fallen out or had maybe been deliberately thrown out by some idiot.

There were too many to pick up so I selected a sample of three different medications and asked Willow to phone the council..........

She explained the type of tablets and the operator was very concerned and said that they would take action but three days later, the tablets were still there although by now wet and damaged but accessable to dogs and other animals.

WHAT TABLETS WERE THEY???

1) FLUOXETINE. - Better known as PROZAC

2) LOESTRIN - A Birth Control Pill

3) VITAMIN B - Marked STRONG! The internet reports that excess dosage can cause Neurological Damage......

Firstly can I remind everyone that unused tablets should be returned to the chemist for destruction, NOT PUT IN THE BIN!

I would love to know what happened at the council offices after the enthusiastic response from the operator, that stopped the wheels that were in motion to clear up this danger. If a child or pet had sampled these drugs, I would hate to think of the consequences!

Everyone is familiar with the "spillage" after the refuse collecters have been around but it is not just a case of paper/wrappings flying down the street, sometimes there is a greater danger lurking!

Re: Wednesday Moan

Why not ring up our esteemed Mr Britcliffe and ask him to comment.

I shudder to think what would happen to a child who took any of these especially the Prozac.
