What A Beautiful Service

The service for Princess Diana was a beautiful and moving tribute to a wonderful woman sadly taken to soon. I don't think anybody could fail to be moved especially by the words spoken by Harry. Once again those boys have shown a maturity beyond their years, she would have been so proud of them. In my opinion they are a credit to both her and Prince Charles.

I agree, Bernadette. It was a lovely service. Very moving indeed.
They're showing a repeat of Diana's funeral tomorow morning on BBC Parliament. Will you be watching that? I don't think I will. I watched it at the time 10 years ago but wouldn't watch a repeat.

I don't think so, I still get upset about it now and I don't need to see the effect her death had on so many people to remind me just how highly she was regarded.

Re: What A Beautiful Service

I didn’t watch it all, just bits and what followed on the news. I have to say that it was emotional and despite the fact I wasn’t a Diana supporter I was moved and did shed a tear, very emotive service for her children, the family and those who really knew her. Let’s hope this draws a line under it once and for all. There’s nothing wrong with remembering the life of someone like Diana, but we need to keep perspective and remember that others did and do more to nurse, care for and solve the Aids issue as well as working to physically clear live mines from the world’s former and future battle fields and many other unsung deeds to help others. Give them a thought.

I thought it was a lovely service too, I'm not a massive fan of the royals but at the end of the day it was a service for a much missed Mum.

I didn't see it because we were in Blackpool queuing up for the concert and switching on of the lights. I think I'd rather have been here watching the TV.
