I was at Woodnook School, but left in the summer of 1962......would the art teacher have been Miss Atherton???? she took art while I was there and did have red hair.
The only other teachera that spring to mind are Mrs Whittaker (PE and she was married to Jim Bowen) Mr Gayle....a rotund fellow with horn rimmed specs....and Mr Suthers a bearded chappie who took us for Maths.....I was scared stiff of him.... but he was very kind to me in our final year exams.

Re: woodnook school

I also went to woodnook on belfield road and then woodnook up top and then Hollins when it opened. Mr Dodd was the headmaster then, i left in 1968.I remember Mr Wade, Mr Ratcliffe, Miss Davies, Mr Hern who was very strict as i remember and also his wife Mrs Hern who was on the soft side, the lads used to take pleasure in making her cry.

I remember Miss Smith at Woodnook senior school her first name was Paula, we used to sing the song, Hey Paula, when she was around to wind her up.
