In this day and age, this is disgusting.

Have the cops nowt better to do than this? Why aren't they out catching criminals instead of destroying small business enterprises such as these?

Dozens of dogs pass my flat every day - used to see dogs like that, but not lately -it is still not safe to let my old moggie play out.

Re: Woof

A dog becomes dangerous because of the owners, they arnt born vicious!
so it should be the owners who should pay the price!

I always thought that some breeds were selctively bred for dogfights -ie -a genetic tendency for agression was selected -but I'm not an expert on dog breeding

Re: Woof

A dog is not bread for fighting, as soon as its born its not after fighting.

People may breed dogs to be strong and athletic which in turn would be considered maybe, good for fighting.

Again lack of information, Bull Terriors regardless of the kind, English, Staf, Pit, Cross Breeds are not the only dogs that could be made to fight each other.

Jack Russells could be made to fight each other, infact probably any breed of dog could be trained to fight other dogs.

Dog fighting is barbaric, I am totally against it.

However Im also totally against anyone blaming 1 or 2 breeds of dogs for the actions of us humans.

Re: Woof

There is a TV crew on one of the streets down near the bottom end of Willows Lane at the moment. Presumably to show on one of the regional news programmes tonight.

Re: Woof

Trouble is, any goof can get a dog and turn it mean. And the dogs suffer. Animal cruelty is alive and well, and not only that, studies show that men (and I'm sorry to say it is almost always the male of our species who is cruel ) who are cruel to dogs are often wife beaters who also physically abuse children. I do believe that Blake wrote a poem dealing with, among other things, cruelty to animals. "Augeries of Innocence" I think it was. I could google the thing, but sometimes I like to trust my not always consistent memory.

Re: Woof

It was on the national news too. We even got it in Leeds (when the electricity tap was turned on).
I hope those guys get a custodial sentence & whilst inside get a big disease with a little name. We had a Staffy nicked in the 80's & the tought of him being used in dog fights made someone I love very unwell.

Won't let them in, eh. I have to tell you my Rotti story. Hera, who is a big girl, and a hug junkie once let someone break into my house. Problem for the idiot who ignored the signs on my door and the lawn, she would not let him out. When I got home, this stranger was sitting in my chair, and Hera was lying in front of him with this cute, "see what I found daddy" look on her face. He had a few nip marks on his leg, but his major problem was that he needed to go to the can! With Hera as his escort he used my bathroom and was finished just about the time the coppers arrived.
