Apologies for resurrecting an old thread but does anyone know how much notice caterers need. I need one in 5 weeks, do I need to start buying plenty of bread and butter and enrollling volunteers ? :)

have you thought of HEARNS on nuttal st, had some super potatoe pie suppers from them in the past.

I picked the menus up from Hearns just before I moved, now I can't remember where I put them :)

TJ Hurn on Nuttall Street; used 'em the other week for a funeral buffet . Very good quality and reasonably priced.

Am I right in thinking that you don't order one buffet per head for the expected attendance. What's the rule of thumb on these things ?
