Your right there Harry deffo fighting ale. Only drank bitter once when i was in my 20s. puked all night.
Never touched the stuff since. The taste not nice either.
Mind you dont like lager much these days. I`m a biccardi and coke girl mi self.

i tend to stick to a pint of lager.

however on a recent Stag Do to Blackpool i was introduced to a Pint of Caffery's and i must admit that its good.

Re: pub food

Went to the Crown pub today for lunch..

On the front of the menu it says somehting like...Sorry we don't serve fast food. But to make up for it we serve fresh food as fast as we can.

I had lasagne and had to wait quite a while.. didnt time it ..... The food arrived piping hot, freshly cooked and a good feed it was too.

While in Aldershot for the Accy game we had lunch at a posh pub and the roast beef, yorkshire pud, spuds, roasties and the like was ready in 5 minutes.. this was at 12am and we where the first ...

I prefer a wait for cooked on the spot meals than somehting mysterusly done in a couple of minutes

So I was impressd with the crown grub :)

Terrible thing to admit to, but because I always stay with my inlaws who are strict teatotal I have never been inside a pub in Accrington :-/ Although my late father inlaw once took me into Ozzy working mans club.
I will make a definate point of tasting the local hostelry next time i`m up [smiley=alc.gif]
