Baxenden Allotments & Gardens Society 58th Annual Show

BAGS are holding their 58th annual show on Saturday 3 sept, Hollins Technology College, Baxenden. Open to visitors from 14.45 (for exhibitors it's during the morning)
BAGS is the only remaining Gardens society that holds an annual show - kept going by a small dedicated band of volunteers.
It's open to anyone and everyone. there's various categories - veg, floral, floral art, kids classes, jam, cake baking, photography, art, needlecraft.
To enter exhibits it's 25p per item, free for kids. Entry to look round the show after judging is by donation. There's refreshments for sale, raffle and an auction of donated exhibits.
If you'd like an e copy of the show schedule please email me at [email protected]. Alternative you can call at Baxenden Allotments Cabin - open 10am/12pm Sundays. They also have lots of basic garden supplies (compost & feeds) at a good price.

Re: Baxenden Allotments & Gardens Society 58th Annual Show

Thanks to anyone who came to the 58th annual show. And to the small dedicated band of committee members and volunteers who made it happen. We'd a good turn out again despite (or even inspite) the lousy weather. Unfortunately the weather over last month/s affected the number of exhibits, especially the flowers. But everyone did their best and showed their finest. We saw quite a few familiar faces not seen for ages. And several visitors enthused up to enter next year - brilliant.

Have you seen or heard about The Allotment Project at Accrington Market Hall? Just thought your group may be interested. And if there are any budding photographers you can enter a competition too...see Whats On In Lancashire | Family Days Out | Art Galleries & Museums for details.
