If your best friend or hubby/wife told you a secret and told you never to tell anyone else, would you be able to keep the secret??

My opinion, secrets are secrets, and never do you tell anyone these secrets.
Over the years I have been told secrets, but never ever will i repeat them to gain one over on someone, it's just not my style.

yes I understand you cashy.................telling the missus secrets is only right.

But what happens if your missus then goes and tells the person about the secret??

When a friend asks to tell me a secret, I always beg them NOT to tell me please, cause can't promise that I could keep it until I knew what it was if you understand me.

If a friend ever asked me to keep a secret I know i could keep it, even if it was a bad secret. Maybe I am wrong but that is what friends are for!!

A secret is a secret full stop. To tell another person something that someone has confided in you, ESPECIALLY when the person who's secret you hold means a lot to you whether it be a partner or friend, is pure betrayal of trust!

I couldn't put it better myself tinks. If someone has trusted you with a secret, that in my book means a awful lot and never EVER do you betray that trust.

I always keep a secret.
That's why I get the world and there troubles.
Well, the world's a bit of an exaduration.
But some times it feels like that.

I know that feeling..........people tell me their secrets because they know it never goes any further.

But I would be mortified if I told anyone a secret then heard it back again!!!!! that is just down right EVIL..........specially when it could cause trouble between another COUPLE of people, I actually think that, that is vindictive

I also think your right, but all to often the burden of secrets leads to friend falling out. Can I ask, If a friend told you a secret that would eventually lead to the end of a relationship or put another at risk would you still keep it?

I tend to tell Chris most things that I get told only because if I kept it in it would burst out of me. I trust him implicitly so it gets it out of my system by telling him.

But if someone actually said, before telling me something 'this is a secret' then I wouldn't even tell Chris.
