I know the feeling katex. I bought a thingummyjig last year for my mum and it took ages to try to put it all together - in the end i gave up and invited my sis & her partner & kids for tea - and sis & her partner put it together while i cooked! I cheated i'll admit it! lol

Anyway, nearly there with this thing .. had succumb to asking a friend to help me last night. Only the brackets to put on now.

What gets me is no details on box to indicate what I would need, so bought normal type screwdriver instead of Philips, but seems to work ok. Now discovered will need summat to hold nuts at back to tighten up these screws, and THEN it says, 'using electric screwdriver' make some pilot holes :eek: for wood screws.

Wish that it also would have added plus 'one extra human being' :D

Off to B & Q now.

Aaaw thanks Neil, don't want to spoil your reputation by calling you sweet .. but think you may have hidden depths somewhere. Got me adaptor by the way, and pliers and also power screwdriver.. thanks Mez for offer for me to borrow. Called Gofer X :rolleyes: Just charging it up now.

Course an intelligent screwdriver has to have an intelligent mistress, just realised why the charging indicater lights weren't displaying .. forgot to take off the strip of cello' protecting the charging points.. what a saga !:rolleyes:

I know Mez hun, sooo sorry, now find they only provide one spare bolt for the two I bent in my early attempts to get first slat in, however, think one has gone in successfully, albeit slightly crooked.

Now on last lap putting on long middle bracket which has to be screwed into each slat ! Says 'may need some bending' English phrase of understatement here. If yer' first name is Uri .. come along :(

Managed to do three .. ok so what if not quite flush with slat :p and maybe I have taken the indents (or whatever they call them) off the top of the screws. :rolleyes:
Love my screwdriver however ... see what ya' mean :da: Mines a sexy little black and white number. :D

Shillelagh: Would have tried your tactic, but can't cook either.

Will have to get back to it later, have to start the bloody ironing now.

Neither can i kate - what i did was send the nephews to maccydees along the road and a list of what to get and told em to run home so then the burgers didnt get cold!! lol It was a treat for mum!
