I get all the catalogues shoved through my door but never order anything from them. I save up for christmas in the Credit Union and if i have to i can get a loan from them. I think its a lot safer place.

There was a couple on the news who had lost two thousand pounds, when this company closing down.

That of course is very sad, but how on earth can anyone justify spending two grand on a one, or at most two day, celebration?

They might get vouchers and then spend them through the year. They might have a big party on new years eve. They might have a big family. You dont know what they spend it on. I know mine is big enough and when we all get together theres 24 of us and out of that there is only 6 that are under 18 and 1 of them is 17! I know when I do New Years Day party - it costs me a fortune - and they bring their own booze. I buy some but even then for just one tea you are talking at least £150.

I know someone - she died a few years ago and as far as she was concerned Christmas was special and she bought allsorts - she had a big xmas day party, new years day party and many parties in between. She went full out - not just turkey she had ham etc. It was brilliant. She said she spent all year earning the money for xmas. And spent it all on pressies, food, decorations, booze.
