Come Dine With Me.
Does anyone else watch this programme on Channel 4 on Thursday evenings, from where it's been moved from an afternoon slot?
Basically a group of strangers take turns to entertain and cook for each other, and award marks at the end to decide on a winner. The guy who does the voiceover is hilarious. I did ponder whether we should actually have an Accy Web version, but on second thoughts it sounds like way too much trouble. Instead I thought we could have a virtual version. Come up with a three course menu, and any other details that you might like to provide. I'll invite you to my house first. Menu. Onion soup with a Gruyère crust. Kedgeree, served with a wilted spinach salad. Cheeses and fruit. It might be a very simple menu, but it could all be prepared in advance, as being nosey I hate being stuck in the kitchen, and not joining in the conversation. You'd have a plentiful supply of whatever drinks you wanted, and be hopefully entertained by tales of the daft things I've done in my life, such as the Holland Park dwarf in a drawer, and the Glaswegian wheeled woman stories...if you haven't heard them before. I'd try my very best to make sure you had a fun and entertaining evening, and I hoped you didn't discover anything too shocking whilst you were rooting around upstairs whilst I was decorating the kedgeree with the boiled eggs. Well I'll happily have you all over to my virtual home.
My first course will be Red onion tartlets with goats cheese A twist on the traditional roast turkey meal with all the trimmings Cheesecake with strawberries But before everyone arrives I'll just need to order a skip to remove all the rubbish from our bedrooms and the garage so that people don't find it a health and safety risk. I'd entertain everyone with my old 1980's CDs and a game of scrabble - in which I would probably endearvour to lose so that someone else stood a chance. |

Your all more than welcome into my virtual abode,where i shall treat you to.....
Vol au vents with pink salmon and cucumber Vol au vents with leek and wild mushroom Slow roasted lamb with mediterranean veg (peppers,auburgine,onions and thick courgette slices) with mint and rosemary sauce. Strawberry angel delight with pink sprinkles and iced pink doughnuts with frothy coffee to finish. My evening entertainment would be hula dancers and me encouraging everyone to spill the beans about their most embarrassing moments.....as well as telling my own. Enjoy :) |

i love that programme but i havent watched it lately... i am not sure that i would like you lot on accy web rooting through my drawers while i am cooking :eek: :o but i supose i can root through yours too...:thankya:

In My humble abode starters are an informal course of tapas
Cream cheese stuffed baby peppers Garlic king prawns seranno Ham croquettes ( Ham and cheese) or spiced chicken balls warmed stilton stuffed mushrooms These to be eaten during informal chat with a nice martini or medium sweet wine Main course Chicken in cream and wine sauce. served with turned mushrooms, gentle steamed mange tout, baked duchess potatoes and rough chopped carrots poached in wine. Sweet simple rhubarb fool spiked with vodka and homemade vanilla pod spiked ice cream main course wold be served with a nice REALLY cold soave or muscadet Of course after teh meal a nice brandy served in a 'warmer'(Amazon.com: Brandy Snifter & Warmer Set: Kitchen & Dining if you don't know what I mean) served in teh back garden under teh moon and stars, being kept warm by the patio heater... Music by chopin, beethoven, bach etc during the meal... quietly in the background. |

Actually for my second course I want to change my menu.
I'll be providing a fish pie with crusted potato topping and mini fresh vegetables. |

ok.....
good old fashioned yorkshire starter of a massive wedge of yorkshire pudding and gravy. (that'll make my grandma happy) main course.. steak and mushrooms in my mushroom sauce with creamed (not mashed) potatoes and chives.. steamed carrots and swede mashed with butter and black pepper... and peas dessert.... desserts i am good at.. chocolate fudge cake with toffee sauce? tbh im a good cook so would take requests :D |

As my husband is a qualified chef I can't really compete.
For starters I would have sliced mushrooms cooked in white wine with mixed herbs served on a large crouton. For main course Salmon and prawn en-croute served with chargrilled asparagus and baby new potatoes with best butter. Followed with chocolate fondue spiked with your favourite liquer, served with fresh strawberries, marshmellows and homemade flapjack squares. All served with a nice cooled dry white wine |

Second course - spugs curry (drink - water, water, wheres the water - im going to kill you - its only 1/2 a teaspoon not a bloody dessertspoon of chilli powder that goes in) Third course.... you really need to ask..... My own menu would be First course Salt and pepper ribs chicken wings and seaweed (Sundragon) Second Course Special Satay with boiled rice (Mayflower) Third course strawberries and cream |

main course - apple pie on a buttered t-cake desert - ice-cream with dry roasted peanuts all washed down with glass of vimto milkshake |

First course ....stuffed mushrooms ( breadcrumbs, sherry, garlic ) with a white sauce and parmesan crust
Second course..... Roast Leg of lamb with rosemary, served with mint and rosemary jelly, accompanied by roast potatoes, sweet potato mash,Yorkshire puddings, honeyed julienne carrots, garden peas ,leeks in cheese sauce and gravy. Third course.....Chocolate fudge cake and cream Then cheese and biscuits...has to involve a ripe brie,some tasty Lancashire and a blue cambozola/gorgonzola. |

Well as Anne is on a course tomorrow (Monday) i am making tea
Starter Roast red pepper soup Main Venison on a bed of sweet and sour peppers with a crispy mixed salad Sweet Hot chocolate fondant pudding with home made mint ice cream and raspberries Anne will be having a toasted teacake as usual:D |

I think the producers of the come dine with me last week had a bet to see if they could get the strangest most peculiar people from Preston in a room at the same Time!! Good entertainment!
