Re: Today I met an Accywebber...

I think you are probably referring to a gentleman I have been corresponding with via email for some time now, exchanging ‘funnies’ – sorry, not always suitable for sharing on Accrington Web I have to say – come to think of it seldom suitable – oops! Have enjoyed many a smile and a chuckle with him. However, life isn’t always funny – can sometimes be very cruel in fact - and a few weeks ago he was dealt an awful blow.
He is presently trying to beat seemingly insurmountable odds and although out of respect for his privacy I can’t mention his name, not up to me to do so unless I have his permission, I do ask that we all spare a thought for a fellow Webber who is going through such an awful ordeal. Here’s hoping he can prove the doctors wrong even though the odds are so stacked against him.
When you see him again, Flashy, assuming we are talking about the same person - though I could be wrong, please give him my best wishes and tell him I am missing his emails and waiting for him to come back on-line.
I make no apologies for this entry being long-winded.

Just referring back to my entry (No. 2206) on this thread. Turns out it wasn't the person I thought it might be, although everything 'fit' re age and place of abode. I jumped the gun a bit there. My apologies to all concerned. However, my email friend IS a member of the Web and all that I wrote about him is as I said. I think we should all spare a thought and a kindly wish for better days for all fellow Webbers who are not enjoying the best of health.
